It is probably time. Consider replacing: Spark Plugs Ignition wires Distributer cap Rotor The dielectric grease keeps moisture out and makes it easier to install and remove the wires. It does make it messier so use it sparingly. It goes on the ends where it connects to the distributer and the spark plug. It is important that the cover for the spark plug well fits correctly into the ring to prevent water from getting into the well. Use a mirror if you have to to inspect each boot all around. The whole job is easier if you remove the intake manifold. Not faster but easier.
