Hey guys, the coolant neither disappears nor evaporates in a proper system. If you are adding coolant with every second or third tank of gas, you are slowly leaking coolant. If you can's see where its leaking when you park the car hot, then its probably dripping into valley and corroding your block. If you can see where its leaking, fix it. You may still bed leaking in the valley as well, and you need to find out. Ignoring this is going to get expensive. Removing the manifold and installing a new water pump and hoses isn't that tough, and there is a forum here to help. Fix it, get help from another owner, or take it to a vendor, but don't kid yourself... This really does happen. If any owner is worried about this problem they should do a Master Water Pump Kit and get in there and replace all those seals, hoses, and gaskets. While in there it is a perfect opportunity to clean the wells and paint the area with Glyptol for a little extra "insurance". After that the coolant should be tested every year and replaced every 4 years. A lot cheaper than having the block rot!
