I'm learning that there are two varieties out there these days, yours (DMC) and one that Grady and Hervey sell that is PVC. My first one is getting stiff and is unusable after 2 years, although it has always been a bit tight small. I'm sure both are good products, I'll try Brand Y this time just to see how that goes. Thanks everybody! (ahem) /Is there a source for a new or alternate part?/ Funny you should ask. The cover seals we sell are new. I don't think NOS seals have been available for a long time. They weren't very good. They would shrink and harden and crack when exposed to heat and gasoline fumes. The new ones are still made of a plastic dip material that can contract and stiffen when subjected to heat, but the effect is much less. Better living through chemistry.
