[DML] Painted Delorean's



To All,
Sherman Williams, PPG Industries, and DuPont were contacted by DMC to
submit information on procedures for painting stainless steel panels, check
out DMC Service Bulletin ST-02-2/82 for all the details. 

Page 101 of Stainless Steel Illusion has details on experiments with
painting the stainless. Paragraph two reads: "A far more intriguing way JZD
considered for adding color to his sports car was with new body panels. Not
stainless steel or metal, but soft urethane plastic bolted in place of the
metal panels. The plastic would not only add color but would be highly
resistant to small dings and bumps to the body surface. We may not of heard
the last of this bright idea."

That last line strongly relates to the recent stories talking of John
building a plastic bodied sports car.
