[DML] Re: Yokohama Tires Discontinued???

Yokohama now makes for our cars is a H rated tire.... Is this true or have I
been steered wrong. If correct I'm thinking it may be time to buy up some spare
stock...

Yokohama has discontinued tires for our cars several times
over the years. Typically with markets this small, tire companies
run batches of odd-sized tires periodically. Once the batch run
is done, tire shops can no longer order directly from the company.
Any inventory held by distributors is the only alternative.
After a period of time, the company may decide to run another
batch and the process starts all over.

I would not stockpile tires, especially high speed rated tires.
The compounds used to make high performance tires
outgasses at a steady rate from when the tire is made.
The longer the time, the worse the tire will perform. Autocross
tires have a life of one year whether you put them on a rim
and run them or not.
