How do you explain the fender in the warehouse that had color samples
painted on it? (I wish I took a picture... Maybe Steve Wynn can post
one?)

I was told this was a fender that was used to test, and display the
paint possibilities on the stainless. I think someone at the warehouse
said it came from DuPont... I saw no verification of this, I am NOT an
authority on this.

In a company of any substantial size, I find it impossible for one
person to know about everything that was going on. DMC subcontracted
the turbo design to Legend, maybe they also subcontracted the paint
research to someone?
