Bill, I wonder how many of the 3 "leaking" DeLoreans were running on original coolant hoses and clamps? (could have been 3 for 3) Even if the hoses had been replaced, were the aluminum tubes cleaned before new hoses were put on? Were new clamps put on? As for Cadillac, they are still in business while having a near 100% coolant leak rate from the mid 80's through early 90's. My father worked for a Cadillac dealership from the early 80's through the early 90's and as part of every coolant related job or service, the mechanics were required to add anywhere from 2 to 6 tablets of GM stop-leak to the radiator when finished. And since this was a Genuine GM stop-leak product, there may have been use for it elsewhere in the GM product line as well. The next time I'm looking through my father's toolbox, I will see if I can find an open package of tablets with instructions, since I know they were used often and he always seemed to have open packages left over in one of the top drawers. At least for several years in the past, I'm sure Cadillac would have been very happy to get down to a 20% coolant leak rate.
