This is absolutely ridiculous.? I think many people on the DML would like to have this solved once and for all so the arguing can stop.? I don't see a single person on here saying the 'performance' parts don't work well in the DeLorean.? But it is truely surprising that a handful of DML'ers are either avoiding the real question or simply just don't get it.? The REAL QUESTION is "What Horsepower or Torque Advantage Will I Have When Using 'Performance Parts' Versus My NEW STOCK OEM (Not 25 year old garbage) Parts?"? Why is it so unreasonable to provide this information or to ask the question?? The question is not whether it costs more, or does it fit, or is it 'proper' to put non-stock parts on, it's about what will someone like me, with 11596, which had a full OEM-style tune-up three years ago, runs?properly and gets 30 mpg on the interstate at 75 mph and starts immediately every single time??- what gain will someone like ME get???? Surely someone on here has access to a dyno.? Who out there does????? Once someone volunteers, I think Hervey needs to donate a tune-up kit so someone can put up some numbers.? It's unreasonable to make claims, then when someone asks you to prove it, to say I don't have to, but if you don't believe me, spend the cash so I make a profit on your tests.? It would be better for someone like Hervey to say, "I have so much confidence in my product, that I will LOAN it to someone who has a dyno to test it and prove the claims."? Then he gets his product back after a 5 minute run.? The catch would be to make sure the two or three runs are scientifically controlled, so that any variance is absolutely dependant on the parts used.? And it shouldn't be conducted by someone with a hot head... So now, who has a dyno?? Andy VIN 11596 Welmoed, Were talking to at least 2 guy's that want someone else to spend the money to prove a point to them that new and improved parts don't work and perform better than new or NOS original parts. I have offered up a tune up kit to both of them to pay for it, install it and they run the dyno before and after since the performance of 100+ people that have bought the kits are happy with them. Maybe if they stepped up to the plate and brought a new product to the community we could ask them the same question. All I hear now is criticism or why this and why not that or haven't you done that. At this time neither has placed an order and I don't expect them to. As far as I am concerned they can stay with the old parts whether they are new or not. Has anyone seen dyno before and after on the Nology kits. The guys that want to stick to NOS stuff and claim it's better than what was in their car have a point! Nevertheless don't argue that those NOS parts are equal to modern performance technology. Proof? My car's parts (except for the coil were replaced 2005). Yet as for today I still find better (improved) responses of my car and a better mileage than before. That's not only due to the coil that has been replaced but also due to the better wires. Don't tell me that NOS cables wll perform better than cables ith a far lower resistance. Don't argue that NOS coils (28kV) do better than Flamethrower coils (40kV). That's not argueing, that's sticking your head in the sand and believe whatever the gospel tells you. If you do not believe what other people (positively) experience it's not worth the time trying to convince you! If you want to know what your money returns you in improvement and you do not believe the rest of the world, toss in your coins and test yourself. Even if John would go for it and do the dyno himself, I'm sure it would be money down the drain as again you would ignore that and say the results were "coloured". Keep sitting in your sheltered corner while the world moves on!
