I think we manage pretty well as we are, I don?t personally want to make my DeLorean ownership into a business, but some of you may have other ideas?comments? Or if you prefer, talk to the lady direct, it?s a free country still (Just). The basic idea is for a chauffeured car service for bridegrooms ? not just any old cars though! Everyone knows the bride usually gets to the church, registry office or other wedding venue in her shiny chauffeured Rolls Royce or Mercedes and what does the bridegroom do? Invariably he?s taken in the best man?s Mondeo or calls a cab! My idea is to offer a wide range of unusual, rare and interesting cars to get the bridegroom to the church on time (as it were!). Ideally, the service would operate nationwide and to this end I am contacting the relevant owners clubs of a range of vehicles. Obviously, when planning a venture such as this there are many issues to take into consideration, namely: - whether owners would wish to use their vehicles during the winter months, or in wet weather - how far the owners would wish to travel to provide this service - how much owners feel is a fair price to charge for such a service - insurance issues surrounding the use of the vehicle for hire purposes Additionally, I am very definite that only vehicles of the highest quality are chosen. This is why I have chosen to deal with high profile owners clubs as I know that genuine enthusiasts of any marque are extremely proud of their vehicles and take the utmost care of them. Delorean is a marque that I am very keen on becoming involved with my venture. The cars are instantly recognisable and yet very unusual and I feel they would be an extremely popular addition to the steadily growing portfolio of rare vehicles I am accumulating for my venture. Including Delorean, I have also contacted owners clubs of the following marques: - Lotus: Esprit, 340R, Elan (1960?s version and M100 models), Elise, Exige ? a huge collection at my beck and call thanks to the fact I?m an active member of a few Lotus clubs and have five different models in the family already! - Mustang - Dodge - Pontiac - Jaguar - TVR - Noble - Aston Martin - Cadillac - Thunderbird - Maserati - Marcos You will notice that the majority of these vehicles will be 2-seaters which would mean that the bridegroom would have to travel to the wedding venue by himself. I have carried out some preliminary research on various ?wedding helper? websites and the initial feedback has been very positive. It appears that brides feel the hiring of an unusual chauffeur-driven sports/luxury car would be a wonderful treat for their grooms! Obviously, one of the major considerations for anyone planning a wedding is cost. Weddings are expensive affairs and I was initially unsure whether the cost of what could be seen as an unnecessary expense would put people off. However, it appears that if the price was fair, many people would be receptive and interested in having a little something extra. Therefore, I would be very interested in speaking with you in more detail to ascertain the interest of Delorean Owners Club members! Thank you for taking the time to read my email and I really hope we can talk soon!
