There is a metal stud bonded in the bottomof the tank..I think this holds the filter Assy down...and the lift pipe..if this has rusted away, they a new tank should do the job. Get someone to remove the fuel pump from the top of the tank and investigate.

Dear Chris, or anyone,
My rhd starts to cut out when pulling away from junctions or on roundabouts when the tank gets below about half full.  I assume it's petrol starvation.  It's almost undriveable when it's below a quarter full.  Is this something to do with tank baffles, which I vaguely remember seeing some correspondence about?  Do I need to buy a new tank off CP.
 
My tame mechanic, who services my cars, saw the D's at the show yesterday and said they all looked good.  I was sorry not to come.  Maybe next year.
