Hey Jack, I am NOT putting down the car I am TELLING of what I know of the Faults of the car and the Good of the Car...sure it would be nice if we all looked at the Delorean with Rose colored glasses..But that is NOT the real world when it comes to Deloreans You do realize that 90% of the people that "want" to own a Delorean base it from seeing the BTTF trilogies and DO NOT understand the Land-mine purchase that a Delorean can become..as a Delorean is one of the most deceiving cars you can Purchase.. Because of the fact that from a first impression look at most Deloreans..even the worst ones, seem at the most to just need minor work to make perfect..the Bulk of the Newbies who are interested in a Delorean..will make the classic mistake and see shiny Stainless Steel and be ready to plunk down hard earned cash...only to realize later when they do a oil change and then spot something like a rotted frame or find out as they are driving along and smell the smell of a melting fuse box..or the sound of a snapping trailing arm bolt at speed...or find themselves without heat on a cold freezing day or AC on a hot blistering day..because of a failing Mode control switch etc etc.. Am I getting my point clear of WHY it is NOT sensible to Make the Delorean Appear as a outright Perfect car...Non-Negative car??? This Group WAS established to Talk about the Delorean and JZD Himself on ALL subjects both good and bad..and ugly..let the Truth be known If this Group Becomes one sided and Only wants to talk about the Positives of the Delorean and JZD...then this Group is NOT going to help the Delorean community..but hurt it in the long run... My goal down the road is buying a 348 or 355 Ferrari Spyder.. or a 328.and when that time comes I sure as hell...WANT to know the Positives and Negatives..I want to hear All comments about my future purchase. Just my 2 cents (again) Claude --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Jack Singer <jack4545@...> wrote: > > I have met hundreds of Delorean owners over the years. Â Many have been to my house, I have hosted events and I have never run across anyone as negative as you Bill or Claude. Â People are tired of hearing about your negative opinion when they are working so hard to make their car right... > Just my two cents. > Jack. > > --- On Wed, 3/21/12, content22207 <brobertson@...> wrote: > > From: content22207 <brobertson@...> > Subject: [DML] Re: Limit Users. > To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Date: Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 1:18 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > *WARNING* The following words were written by Bill Robertson. If I crave attention, negative or positive, then why would my ultimate goal be banishment (ie: no more attention)? > > > > I just refuse to spout dogma and orthodoxy -- that's all. JZD was not a saint. He wasn't even a good businessman (every single business he was involved with after leaving Chevrolet, which lost money 3 of the 4 years he presided over it), failed. Consciously or not, the man also was a prolific liar. The car that bears his name is not perfect. In fact, it is riddled with flaws (understandably so, but it is ludicrous to claim that the car is not rife from improvement). There are many ways to accomplish these improvements, not just one. New areas of improvement are being found all the time (for example, until last year, I used to believe your oft repeated claim that the instrument cluster is grounded via the radio bracket. In fact only the radio itself is grounded there -- the instrument cluster is grounded behind the central HVAC plenum). > > > > It is clear that you and I have a personality clash. It would be best for us to avoid face to face contact in the future. The only people who benefit from us in the same room are spectators who want to see a conflict. > > > > Bill Robertson > > #5939 > > > > --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Marc Levy <malevy_nj@> wrote: > > > > > > IMHO, your ultimate goal in all of this. > > > > > > People like attention, I think it is a common human trait.
