I've been driving manual cars for years (Both of my cars are manual, DMC 6239 and '01 Bullitt Mustang 435) and when I get in an automatic, I'm constantly uncomfortable with the lack of control. I find automatics to be erratic in their shifting - or maybe I'm just a control freak. I can see how it might be beneficial in a parade setting though - which is like gridlock traffic, but even though I live in Atlanta and experience traffic constantly, I never have gotten tired of shifting over auto.

It really has to do with the fact that the majority of the population drive/prefer automatics..
