Mr. G's Enterprises. Sells all kinds of hardware. http://www.mrgusa.com/pdfs/63jacknut.pdf
He will sell one at a time with no minimum quantites. What you are calling "ribbed aluminum riv-nuts are what he calles jack nuts. They work like the expansion anchors you use in sheet rock. Much stronger than riv-nuts, especially in fiberglass and the size of the hole is not as critical. Riv-nuts are really only intended for metal, not fiberglass. Lotus uses them all over, not riv-nuts. The only real problem with riv-nuts AND jack-nuts is that they corrode. Once that happens it starts turning in the fiberglass. Jack-nuts tend to break apart and you can force them out easier than riv-nuts when they corrode. Another interesting thing about jack-nuts is you can get by without a special tool to install them. A bolt and some washers can do it.
