The past week in Las Vegas planning for DCS 09 Prelude has been hugely successful. There are so many unique opportunities that we can take advantage of that we need some feed back on what people may be interested in. Here is the tentative schedule: This will be added to the website in the near future. Travel to LV on Sunday. Coordinated Event for sunday night TBA Coordinated Event for Monday morning TBA Coordinated Event for Monday lunch TBA Monday night dinner at Shari's 1950's authentic Diner- Good food and great people. Coordinated Event for Tuesday morning TBA Tuesday Lunch at Top of the World (this can change if people want to do other options.) Tuesday night at the Drive in theatre NW of the Strip. 4 screens show you can choose your movie. Wednesday morning preparing for BTTF Bar B Q event. Volunteers welcome. Wednesday afternoon and evening BTTF Bar B Q (with swimming pool) This is limited in space. RSVP only. Options: Other opportunities include: (We are seriously considering developing a POST DCS 09 event schedule because of all the choices.) Delorean Drive and Gullwing Land Photo op (North Las Vegas) about 20 minutes. A private tour of a well known very wealthy person's car collection and home featuring a vintage street, and mansion home with various themed rooms- including a pyramid, observatory, etc. This would include private parking on and photo ops on the site. The grounds include many old Las vegas and displays from closed casinos. This is not open to the public. Special Tour of a hydrogen generation facility using solar panels by the Las Vegas water District. (They have 3 hydrogen cars they are testing) Pole Position indoor electric go Kart racing. Malibu racing dual rotor wankel engine go kart slolam racing. Must be over 21. Got to beat 59 seconds. Bikini Car wash-(suggested by Gail)-up close and personal with some local "dancers" New "old Las Vegas" neon museum on Fremont Street (not open until 2009) Picnic in Red Rock canyon park. On-site visit to Clark county museum with a vintage 1950s street where we can park our cars for photo ops. This has to be pre arranged since this is a normally closed street. Notes: Cost for Hover dam is expensive. $20 parking. $30 tour. Free Wi Fi at Panera with an ATT account. Sushi 21 Flamingo and Decatur. Good prices and a full bottle of Plum Wine ($12). Horse show at South Point Casino Quarks will be closed. Last day in Sept 1. 2008. Saturday morning Coffee and Cars at 7- 8 am at a local restaurant.
