For the following reasons I am convinced our angle drives were
designed for right wheel applications:
1) On the left wheel, lubrication screw is upside down
2) Spindle cable is wound in same direction as left wheel rotation
(left wheel rotation tries to unwind it)
3) Left wheel rotation forces screw gear angles together (right wheel
rotation spreads them apart)
4) Smiths Motor Accessories LTD was a long established firm, in
business for nearly a century before DMC came on the scene, so it only
makes sense that their products were designed for the British right
hand drive market.
