I have replaced dozens of seals with no problem but, I recently did a
similar routine to MY differential (an auto) and now it leaks all the
time. I have replaced the seals four times! First time just an
original seal replacement with no change in leak pattern. Second time
I had some seals from Heninger. They seemed great - not a hint of a
leak until about 1000 miles - then puddles. Third time I used
original type seals from Grady and one NEW flange from DMCH - dripped
constantly. Fourth time I installed Grady sleeves on old flanges with
original type seals. Now on the right side the O-ring leaks, not the
seal, and the sleeve on the left side seeps. I had a "small" puddle
of oil after setting for three weeks in the garage - slightly better
than when I started a year ago. I have tried to be methodical, check
everything, but it just seems like I can't get it right..
I guess my point is - You're not alone!
