[DML] transmission leak

Hey group,
I have been dealing with a transmission leak since last year. I had my
tranny out and I decided to repair my weeping axle seals. They didn't leak much,
but the tranny always had moisture on it around the seal. Anyway, I
scratched the inside lip of the casing while removing the old hard-as-rock seal with
a seal puller... whoops. I replaced the seal and had my yoke exchanged
with a sleeved one from Grady. It leaked when I was done, probably because I
had a hard time getting the seal in and I think I may have damaged it. So, I
replaced the seal again, this time doing a much better job and using anaerobic
sealant between the seal and the casing. It still leaks, and I am pretty
sure it is from a scratch that I made when taking the seal out for the first
time.
What's the fix? I was thinking pulling the axle again, taking the seal out,
cleaning everything up well, and then mix up some JB weld and try to apply
it with my finger, while wiping it back and forth so that the weld only fills
in the scratch and does not add a layer to the casing surface. Let it dry
overnight and reinstall another seal with sealant and hope for the best?
Any other ideas?
