[DML] Commercial posting clarifications and unsolicited e-mail

There has been a bit of traffic lately on the recent announcement from Henninger & Assoc.

The commercial posting policy for the DML is pretty straightforward. The DML welcomes messages/postings from the commercial vendors that include new informative content (such as annoncement of a new part as in this recent posting). Such announcements benefit the community by making us aware of products and options that we might not otherwise know about.

The DML does not condone the harvesting of e-mail addresses from our forum for use in unsolicited mailings. Although I find it to be in poor taste (if not offensive), there is not much we can do to control such address harvesting.

For those that received unwelcome unsolicited private mailings, I encourage you to take that up with Byrne. In running a business, I expect he will be sensitive to his potential customers.
