This one comes up from time to time. The general consensus is that the dies and press needed to reliably stamp reproduction panels would require such a large initial investment that the sales of new panels could never provide a return on that investment. Since there are so many wrecked cars out there for parting out, no one would ever pay many thousands of dollars for a reproduction panel when a OEM panel is still available for far less. In other words, it is not economically feasible (unless you know someone with far too much money who would do this as a 'gift' to DeLorean owners!) Technically possible, but realistically improbable and non-justifiable. I was thinking about the feasibility of making new panels and that seemed a good way to make new panels since T304 stainless is readily available instead of having a custom shop hammer and roll a new panel at an ungodly price. That way a company could become a limited run provider of panels for cars that needs new panels, mainly left front fenders, but any panel or maybe even plastic panels? What do you think?
