The relay may be cheaper but the installation is a pain. I was on the phone with John a couple of times because the instructions vary depending on the build of the car. Mine was, of course, the other build. The LEDs will reduce the current through the switch thereby reducing the potential for heat. Barring a short in the wiring somewhere else they should reduce the potential for switch problems. Even though I decided for a number of reasons not to "invest" in the venture of replacement switches, I am disappointed that there will not be true reproductions of the switch. Unless there is a true reproduction made, these switches will only become more rare and expensive, so it is best to protect them. The one thing I need to do is add a fuse to the light. I keep hearing that this is not fused, so a short could melt the switch anyway. Anyone have details on that?
