Removing the ignition switch, from the steering shaft

Ok,here is one that has me stumped.
How do I remove the ignition switch(the key lock ignition switch
p/n106679) from the steering column shaft?
Not the process on how to get to it to remove it,that part was not a
problem,But to acutally, remove it OFF the steering column shaft,it
seems to have two huge rivits (or some kind of special bolts)that
attach it directly to the steering shaft.Do these have to be drilled
out to remove the ignition switch, and then how do you reattach them.

Thank in advance
