Causes for low voltage at idle
Wrong pulley on alternater
Dirty ground connections
Too much load at idle (a/c lights, radio, cooling fans etc all on at
once)
Bad battery or dirty connections
Blown diodes in alternater causing low output
With the alternater putting out voltage with a fully charged battery
should be about 13.5-14.5 volts at the alternater with low ripple.
