Andy,

The screws turn CCW to remove. Sometimes you can loosen stubborn screws by
placing the correct size screw driver in the screw head, then give the
screwdriver handle a solid tap on the end with a dead blow hammer. A dead
blow hammer is filled with lead shot so the hammer does not bounce. Be
careful, and do not beat the thing to death because of your frustration.
