In all fairness, there was a time several years ago in which the DML 
contained postings critical of the DOA and the way they operated. At 
that time (1996!!), I was the sole moderator and also actually a 
member of the DOA board of directors. I knew from firsthand 
experiences that the postings contained the truth or in other cases 
were obviously stated as opinions, so I approved the postings. Many 
longtime DML'ers remember the ensuing legal threats from the DOA 
attorney against me and other DML'ers.

I'm pleased that Dave Swingle and the rest of the moderators have 
chosen to take the "high road" in many of the recent DOA discussions 
that have followed these past few months. They have a very difficult 
job, believe it or not, and their only reward is the satisfaction of 
a job well done and knowing that they are providing a very valuable 
and needed service.
