Dear all...It's nice to read that what (we) do in the running of the DOC
(uk) is appreciated. Running any club (or email list) can be a time
consuming pastime, you are in the firing line and some times "get shot at",
having been partially responsible for some of the latest agro towards the
DOA, I have deliberately kept out of the latest discussions. Everyone is
entitled to their own opinions, including the DOA.
On a happier note, "Funky Frinky" is pretty typical of 40% of our
membership, yes he's young and no he doesn't yet own a DeLorean, but I bet
he will, one day. Just like two other "under 23 year olds" in the last 6
months, who have had their car dreams come true.That's one of the
significant differences between the DeLorean Owners Club and just about any
other car club you can think off...the average age and enthusiasm of the
members. This bodes well for the future, after all, the future belongs to
the young. It is however an unfortunate fact of life that the people with
most "disposable" cash for "boys toyz" tends to be "old farts" like me.
Young D enthusiasts from either side of the Atlantic would be more than
happy to see the price of our cars remain as "affordable" as they are.I
personally think they are very "cheap" currently, however, you shouldn't buy
any car just as an investment, but because you love to own it, to show it
other people, to drive it..need I go no?
