[DML] TORSION BAR wrench

Hello,
while trying to put the torsion bar back in my passenger side door(which 
has been out for awhile) I had the pull bar break after about 1/4 turn of the 
bar. I used a high quality 3/8 drive, I guess I should have use a 1/2 inch. 
or is there something else I should try? I dont want to have something break 
again. good thing my window was allready broken do to an accident.
what I did is put on the strut and pulled the torsion bar until the door 
would rest at the top, then I had some one hold the wrench while I shut the 
door to see if it would come back up and then my wrench broke.
Thanks for the tips Micheal. I dont really under stand your idea with 
the 4x4, could you clarify a little bit more?. I would be interested in 
trying it. I am VERY sorry to hear about your car. what happens to it now? 
my entire passenger side of my car has to be replaced(long story) and I only 
have a door at this time. just need 2 fenders. did those get smashed? My 
dream is getting more expensive than expected:(
