[DML] Give in steering

Gentlemen,
Having fixed just about all the major issues that have presented themselves
in the course of my ownership of my D, a new one has popped up. There seems
now to be a lot of give in the steering. That is to say, that when driving
I can move my wheel a few degrees and nothing happens to direct the wheels
in a different direction. Is it the tie rod? If so is there a cross
reference? I only have 40,000 miles so I am concerned about what might be
causing this. I have cars (2) with over 150,000 and have not had tie rod
issues yet on them.....

Any help is always most appreciated.
