I do not believe this type of setup would be illegal. A few years back
(beggining of 90's) I saw a thing on the news about cars of the future. And
they were showing how rearview mirrors could be replaced with cameras.

I don't see how this would be illegal, this setup would be more of a monitor
than a TV. Television is illegal in the front seat only, and it is because
it distracts the driver. Look at these new mini vans that are coming out.
They are building them with TV and VCR.
