I'm a teen driver and I have had my D for almost a year. I'm about to turn
19 in September. All I can say is that I'm glad I have a second car for
when my D isn't roadworthy. I am also very thankful I still live with my
parents. If I had to pay rent as well, I think I would have to sell it, at
cost, immediately. I work full time as a detailer at a Pontiac dealership,
and it's barely enough to support me and my car. Whenever anything goes
wrong with the car, I am forced to split the cost of repairs with my dad.
And right now, I am $300 in debt to him because of the D. I am trying to
sell the car now, but I hope to own another in the future when I am more
financially stable and can care for the car, and have some spending money
too. I would have to say that the DeLorean is a fantastic car, although not
very suitable for a teenaged driver.
