What do you know about the replacement rack?  Was it
*NEW* or rebuilt?  If rebuilt, by who?

Warped rotors, bad alighnment, or bad ballance will
damage the rack due to the vibrations those situations
cause.... Even though the car does not vibrate NOW,
does not mean that there may have been some previous
problem that damaged the rack.
