Is there a part number for the bosch o2 sensor for the DeLorean?
As well. where could I find a GOOD cross reference list for various
parts of the D?
Ie.. ball joints, brake pads, etc..
I am trying to compile a list for my webpage www.odoc.ca

I just replaced my driver side window motor assembly and it appeared
that the first owner epoxyed the braket holding the tube that holds
the worm gear track in place. If this bracket breaks, the worm gear
assembly will push itself out of the track and a bunch of noise will
be heard. It will loop itself into an S-shape and fail to feed into
the track properly. You can remove the assembly and have it repaired
with small welding. I had my old one repaired just to see if it was
possible. The original motor assembly was not the best design so now
the new ones are much better and probably last a life-time or at
least until I pass on fourty years from now.

I can not believe that the only car that used the ac compressor in
the DeLorean was the DeLorean. There most have been some other car
to use it, Saab, Volvo, Lotus, etc. My compressor clutch starts to
smoke after several seconds which leads me to think the compressor is
dying. There are many compressors for sale on e-bay. One most fit a
DeLorean. I know the xref is a Sanden (sankyo) SD-510 model 8494 but
that does me no good in finding one at auction.

Since I've probably sold and installed more of these than anyone else I
guess I
need to once again correct the misinformation being repeated. Remote door
openers (not "launchers" - this isn't NASA) are fairly easy to install but
the
wiring is a little tricky. There is absolutely no reason to run separate
wires - there are actually two ways to wire them using existing wiring,
and
motorized actuators draw very little current, unlike heavy solenoids. As
for
which actuators, the PD-1 from Dakota Digital or similar from Auto-loc
work
great. And in spite of what others claim the failure rate in some 15
years of
selling them is ZERO! Not one failure or complaint. Why Bob Z. endlessly
postpones and insists on using solenoids, with their added weight and high
current draw, is beyond me. These work, and have been available for
years. I
have kits on my website, but to be honest anyone with a little ingenuity
can do
it yourself with off-the-shelf parts. And in my
semi-retired-from-DeLorean
state I'm losing interest in supplying them. I will, however, supply
instructions for $15.00 postage included.

Try www.sanden.com. There's a phone number on the site, and a parts
reference. There's nothing unusual about this compressor. Did you
check the DMC places? If I recall the compressor is not terribly
expensive because they have a ton of them.

It was used on the Renault 30 with a slightly larger pulley. It's
cheaper to source from a DeLorean vendor.
