Groovy. I'm glad you got it sorted out.
It's truly a bummer that your new fuel pump died. You might wonder 
why it died. A couple possibilities are:
1. It was faulty out of the box.
2. It choked on debris in your fuel system.
Who did you buy it from? Do you know if it was New/Old Stock? (A 20 
year-old part that was never used)
Unfortunately, the vendors don't usually allow returns on fuel parts 
but you might ask in case I am wrong.
It seems that it's jammed up and that's what's causing the heat. Does 
anyone here know if they have bearings that might be faulty?
