Yes, it's amazing how quickly one can get used to the various laws. I 
went to Georgia with a friend and when we tried to get beer to celebrate 
the day after the wedding, we couldn't buy any. It was Sunday.

To clarify, however, for those of you visiting New Orleans any time soon 
(HA HA HA HA HA HA HA YOU WILL ALL STAY AWAY SCAREDY CATS ahem I mean):

Opened alcohol is allowed on the street only if it's in a plastic 
container. (So if you are in a bar and you have to leave before 
finishing, ask for a "go cup" you can finish it on the way to your car.) 
And, apparently a new regulation for "Southern Decadence" 2003: they're 
trying to pass a law which states couples can be arrested for having sex 
in public if it can be proven they were doing so for entertainment 
purposes. Personally, I think that would be hard to prove. Look away, 
boys, look away.

Good thing I avoid Bourbon Street. :P
