Re: [doc] Infill strips

Hi Paul,
James Espey / DMCH sell those. They are under the "new products" bit on their website. Anyone know if these were a factory original part or a later way of disgusising the bare metal on the door? My #4400 (October '81) has them fitted.

In other news, I got my new windscreen fitted on Monday; as you might guess the car caused quite a stir down at Autoglass. It's not a 'DMC logo' screen and in fact is identical to the broken one that was on there. It's made in Finland and is non tinted, which for me is a good thing as I'm a 6 foot+ tall chap and don't want to be staring through the tinted bit all the time! My nicely repainted louvre is back on the car too, along with most of the outer door seals (the ones that hide the panel fixings and stop the car looking like a kit car!). They've been sat in a box for 12 months waiting for the windscreen to be replaced before being glued on. Oh and I finally got my clock and cigar lighter working after dismantling the centre console three times. Cause of fault: corroded fuse in the fusebox. Moral of the story: check your fuses before taking car to bits, saving much time and effort. DOH!

On a different note, does anyone have a spare door strut (preferably Grady) as a friend of mine wants one for his driver's door. If so, drop me a line privately and we'll do business. Alternatively if anyone is putting an order in to the states, could they include a gas strut for me and I'll post a cheque to them to cover costs.

Bests to all and my thoughts to Claire and family,
