Bill, your disclaimer doesn't read "if you don't like carb discussion, please also ignore the half truths and fallacies below" K jet was mainstream in europe for several years, it's "laughable preposterous" to suggest that one carburetor made by one US manufacturer outnumbers a fuel injection system used by every european manufacturer (including ford) where europe is by far the larger market I'm not arguing your beloved carb isn't better known in the US. The 2100 was Ford's frontline 2 barrel carburetor for more than 30 years (the 4100 -- basically two 2100's back to back -- was Ford's frontline 4 barrel carburetor for 15 years). Ford used the 2100 throughout North America and Australia. AMC and Chrysler also used it (albeit not exclusively). To claim that there were more K-Jet installations than 2100 installations is laughably preposterous. Irrespective, the 2100 is indeed much better known in Minnesota than K-Jet ever will be. If Chad goes through with his conversion -- which I hasten to remind is still 24 months away -- his new carb will be a familiar sight to every seasoned mechanic who peeks under his engine cover.
