I add a plate to the underside to strengthen, bead blast and repaint with POR15, press in a new ball joint with retainer for $125.00 exchange. John Hervey Delorean Auto Parts I also have a pair of original ones that were beefed up by the factory with almost a complete plate underneath the front or nose part. But when I cleaned them up they looked to be in good shape so I didn't bother. Oops. Now I'm using stainless steel ones.
