Ah yes, this sounds like me about 5 years ago. A heed of warning, but in a good way. If you get a car to learn on, be prepared to run into PO problems. I bought a $9K car, more times then not I felt like setting it on fire. I had to have help with it but I had a pretty good teacher. DeLoreans can be very frustrating to work on but the end product is well worth it. Previous owners can sometimes be the worst thing for a car. Expect to finds things that question human intelligence.
