John, A million thank yous for the new information (new to me) about engine oil and the 85 Volvo engine being computer controled while our De Lorean engine is not. After reading what you said I believe I'm best off to stick with what I have been using right along--Valvoline 20-50. I have had no problems with it. As for the filter, the guy I bought the car from had a few brand new ones that he gave me and I still have one left. It's a Valvoline VO-15. Should I toss it and get a 72150 Bosch? You're welcome to write me off the list, if you prefer. Yes, Volvo changed the specifications but our engine aren’t computer controlled like the 85 engine is. Watch your oil pressure. When it’s hot the pressure will go down further on lighter weight oil. Our gauges are figured for a certain weight and changes from that will show up in the oil pressure. Don't let it go to low. Also listen for the noise that lighter weight oil will bring on during the summer. Oil get real thin when hot. Then, use the 72150 Bosch filter. If any one can show me the specifications of another filter that is better then I would like to carry it. But don't just throw ( A Good name ) filter in because of the name. All filters are good but Bosch specifications is the best I have seen in anti drain back and And by pass. I learned a lot and I very much appreciate your taking the time to give me your thoughts on it. As a result of what you said I know now that I don't want to switch to a synthetic engine oil. The only change I might make is from 20-50 down to 30. It was interesting to read that Volvo changed its recommendation for the PRV in 1985 down to 30. I did not know that but it makes sense. I salute you and I thank you all again.
