[DML] Sunken tooling

Do you have proof of this motivation?

I have always read that the tools were simply sold as "scrap metal", and the company that eventually ended up with them bought them to use to anchor fishing nets.

BTW, if they are in the "deepest part of the ocean off the British coast", then that area of the ocean is not that deep!!
