When you "stomp" the pedal (actually you activate the WOT switch) the WOT switch should force a downshift NOT the position of the lever. That lever senses throttle position to modify the upshift points in response to engine power. I have not been able to successfully disect the alternator portion of the shift computer nor have I found one that did not work correctly. BTW that alternator is a 3 phase device and it's voltage output is varied by the RPM of the input shaft AND the position of the lever. Maybe you will be able to find one at the show in Gettysburg?
