For 1987 model year Volvo took the venerable PRV design and improved it significantly. Converted to even fire, bumped up compression, etc. This is the B280, familiar to Chrysler drivers as the 3.0. To accomodate the improved PRV Volvo switched from Bosch's 221-122-345 ignition coil to 221-118-351 (which I believe is also known as 00063). This is a 25,000 volt unit. It appears Volvo itself felt that 7,000 extra volts of coil output was desirable....
