I just installed John Hervey's spliced AC lines along with new high pressure hub, AC orifice, and Accumulator/Drier. Vacuumed the system for 20 minutes last night and checked it this morning to find the vacuum was holding. I decided to start charging the system and put in one small 12oz can of R134A (340mg). After putting this in, the pressure gauge on the lowside is reading ~45psi (high on the nominal reading and low overcharged according to the gauge). In addition, the compressor never cycles and pressure reading stays constant at 45, all on one small can. Any idea why this may be? According to the service manual the compressor inlet screen should be checked for clogs. I don't recall see anything when the system was open, but admittedly the possibility of the inlet screen being clogged wasn't on my mind. The air coming out of the vent is slightly cooler than ambient. And I can see a clear liquid sloshing around in the high pressure hub sight glass. Thanks, I know it's a little late in the season for this lol -Kevin VIN 2234 ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for a deal?
