Steve.. That is very interesting question. I am in line to have a hip replaced over this coming winter so I can appreciate what problems there are in that area. I find that the best way for me to exit is to put one leg out; then swing the other leg out, that is the hard part as there is not enough leg room to swing out without bending it. Then I simply use the door frame to help me stand up. I also have severe degeneration of the knee on the same leg. Getting in or being a passenger is much easier than getting out.
