The connection at the alternator - the one wire plug - is loose. Hervey did a modification inside and removed the other pins - on mine at least - and the one connection can become loose. I took mine off did a minor squeeze on the one remaining pin and secured the dangling wire for minimum movement. All that flickering stopped.
