I find that for the most part the wiring harnesses are OK. You may have to retape it but you don't have to replace it. I think trying to replace all the wires with a higher temp rating is overkill and you will not be able to duplicate the color scheme, many of the wires are not a solid color, they have a "tracer" color. It is a line of color on the side. Just replace the wire going to the temp sender and you could also try using a high temp cover. This is the only wire that gets "cooked". Of course you must make sure that the harness is routed correctly and is not near any sharp edges or hot spots. The routing of the wiring and the location of the clips in the engine compartment is a subject of one of the Factory Bulletins.
