I had an automatic years ago. The "computer" is located in the transmission as I remember. Well......the housing anyway. It has contacts, look like points in an ignition, that open and close and operate on VERY low voltage. I took the cover off and cleaned these contacts. It worked perfectly after I did this. As I remember, you have to cut through quite a bit of silicon seal to get the cover off. After you get the contacts clean blow it out with canned air. Make sure to seal it when you put it back. As I said, this was years ago so all the usual disclaimers apply! If I could do it, you can. Can I remove the shift computer and send it somwhere to have it diagnosed? Thanks for your help so far!
