Thanks to the wealth of information presented here, I was able to buy my "D" with a good amount of knowledge and confidence, and now I am the current caretaker of VIN 3034! It runs well except that at idle it's rough. It starts just fine, but the idle RPM's fluctuate between 600 and 1000, every second or so. When I accellerate, it runs just fine, near as I can tell. The gas mileage is low (I think, although I have nothing to compare it to) at about 15 MPG around town, and that's after putting about 600 miles on it for the last 3 weeks. The frequency valve is not buzzing at idle. Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting? Also, what MPG should I expect in stop and go daily commuting? (it's an automatic) Thanks! No movement, no motor sound. Never any funny noises. You can hear the click of the switch innards... just like the left side one that works, but nothing else. The lefyt side one woks as usual. Any ideas what I need to look at? -Wayne 11174 ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 3 Date: Tue, 31 Oct 2000 16:41:56 -0500 From: "DMC Joe" <dmcjoe@xxxxxxx> Subject: Re: Inertia Switch Impact force Jim, In the event of a collision there is a good possibility that the engine will continue running therefore the inertia switch would be the first line of defense in the event of an engine feed fire. The inertia switch will also *unlock the doors to allow emergency personal to enter the vehicle. At $61.82 I would suggest you put this safety item near the top of your list of items to install in your DeLorean. *providing that the power door lock system is operational.
