You must be talking about Claude Landi's cars for sale on ebay. We've gone round and round about that. If it's below 500 it's a "black car." Meaning it was one of the 500 cars built for practice purposes. These cars were supposedly all scrapped. There were I believe 3 "preproduction prototypes" made in 1980. One sold at auction several years back for only $14k. They differ slightly from the production DeLorean. He'll probably respond and give his reasons why he feels he has a prototype, but his reasons aren't valid.
