I was driving on a concrete road at the time too so looks like that was the culprit. Anyone had a chance to check the photos out too? I had never noticed the cable sitting as low. Thanks for the advice. Yep, I second that. I sometimes get a "Twang" coming from one of the front springs expecially when making a full lock turn whilst going over a bumpy surface "ie.off a kerb". I suppose it could sound like a cable twanging. Paul Have you had the front end jacked up for a while with the front wheels hanging down ?... Maybe it was one of the suspension springs reseating itself, they can make a rather discerning noise when they do it :) Regards Mike #2001 403 --- In doc-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Paul" <willinot@...> wrote: > > Hi > > I was driving home today and heard a loud "twang" from the front of the car > as if something had snapped.
