Just be really careful to cut ALL the frayed ends off at the handle end
first before pulling the old one out otherwise some will get stuck
inside and the new one won't go in.
But yes, I use stainless bike cable from Halfords, and recently changed
out a throttle cable and kept the first metre of the old one from the
pedal end for use in my car as the bonnet release!
